Proton and heavy ion radiotherapy is a treatment method with higher efficacy and fewer side effects in the treatment of deep-seated tumors near critical organs. The most appropriate proton system should be selected for different clinics. Cyclotrons and synchrotrons are the most important proton systems. Some devices use only one, while others have developed a combination of both.
